Veterans Central Fundraising Disco Brings the Community Together at Wells Cole Community Centre
The Wells Cole Community Centre in Saham Toney was alive with music, colour and community spirit on Saturday 15th November, as more than 100 guests came together for the Veterans Central Fundraising Disco. The evening was a fantastic success – full of dancing, laughter, and support for an important local cause.
Veterans Central, based at West Raynham SHQ (Charity No. 1208763), provides essential support to veterans across Norfolk. This lively disco not only raised money, but also helped spread awareness of the charity’s work in the wider community.
A Night of Music, Dancing and Fundraising
Guests enjoyed a brilliant mix of 60s, 70s and 80s music, keeping the dance floor busy all evening. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of energy – a true celebration of community spirit.
Alongside the music, the event featured a raffle with fantastic prizes and an auction of premium items, including luxury hampers and an incredible hospitality box for eight at a Norwich City FC match, complete with a three-course meal. The generosity of local businesses and residents who donated prizes played a vital part in the evening’s success.
Community at Its Best
The Wells Cole Community Centre proved itself once again as a superb local venue. The volunteer team went above and beyond in decorating the hall, setting tables, supporting guests and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Their hard work meant that the Veterans Central team were able to enjoy the evening rather than organise it – something they deeply appreciated.
Many attending had the chance to speak with the Veterans Central team, meet new supporters, and share experiences. Several veterans came along to enjoy the night, creating meaningful connections in a relaxed and friendly environment.
A Remarkable Total Raised
We are delighted to announce that the event raised £1,800 for Veterans Central – a truly fantastic result that will help the charity continue its vital work supporting veterans in our region.

Given the wonderful turnout and brilliant feedback, the organisers hope this will become an annual event at Wells Cole Community Centre. It was an evening filled with joy, connection, and community pride – everything a local event should be.
